Leon R. Glicksman '59, PhD '64
Leon Glicksman has been the head of the Building Technology Program in the Department of Architecture for the past 10 years. He has worked on research and consulting related to energy-efficient building components and design, indoor air flow and indoor air quality. Currently, he is leading an MIT effort to develop energy-efficient, sustainable building technologies and compatible designs.Among his awards are the ASHRAE 1999 Poster Presentation Award and the 1999 Technical/Symposium Paper Award (1999), the Melville Medal of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (1970) and the Robert T. Knapp Award of the Fluids Engineering Division of ASME (1969). He received his B.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from MIT and earned an M.S. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University in 1960.
