Lee R. Lynd

Lee Rybeck Lynd is a recipient of the N.S.F. Presidential Young Investigator Award and a two-time recipient of the Charles A. Lindbergh Award for his efforts to promote a balance between technological progress and preservation of the natural and human environments. He is a member of a Presidential Advisory Committee on Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Personal Vehicles, and serves on the Organizing Committee for the Annual Symposium on Biotechnology for Fuels and Chemicals. He is a Co-Leader of a project entitled "The Role of Biomass in America's Energy Future." Lynd has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed manuscripts and holds 5 patents.

He received a B.S. in Biology from Bates College, an M.S. in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and M.S. and D.E. degrees from the Thayer School of Engineering.
